Memorial Day Recap -Colorado-

Sunday, June 2, 2013

I'm finally getting some time to tell you all about our trip to Denver over Memorial Day weekend. We carpooled with my grandparents which made the ride over a lot of fun. It took us 8 hours to get there and 11 hours to get back. Grandpa had a lot of sight seeing to show us in rural eastern Utah ;)

We pulled into Parker pretty late Wednesday night. Thursday morning was my brother's high school graduation. It was so incredibly windy. My eyes were bloodshot red by the end of it but it was a lot of fun.

While we were in Colorado we also went on lots and lots of walks. I think it makes us feel better about all the food we ate. :)

On Friday we went to Garden of the Gods. I've been quite a few times but I still find it incredibly beautiful!

That afternoon we zipped over to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to do some sight seeing as well. I loved the Air Force chapel. I've never seen a church with that style so it was really neat to see.

On Saturday we spent the morning at Red Rocks and then drove over to Idaho Springs for some white water rafting.

I'm the one on in the middle on the right side in case you were wondering.

On Monday morning we headed home. We saw lots of pretty sights on the way back. We took some detour in Neola and Roosevelt so Grandpa could show us where his grandparents are buried and also show us where he grew up in Roosevelt.

Oh and of course no family gathering is complete without a big bruise to come home with. ;)

Also, if you haven't entered the giveaway for $50 to Shabby Apple you can do so here

  2. Looks like fun! I've never been to Colorado (except on a layover), but I'd love to go. Seems like such an active, outdoorsy place.
