Las Vegas Anniversary Getaway

Tuesday, September 3, 2013

We have been trying to figure out what we wanted to do for Labor Day for the past month or two. We wanted to do something fun since it was our 1st Anniversary but we also didn't want to break the bank. One of our goals in our marriage is to see the world together. We figured we could start small and explore the places close to us first. We hopped on Priceline and found a good deal.

We left Friday morning and made a couple stops to see friends and family on the way down. We also decided to grab a shake. We ordered the mini size and ended up with this. Needless to say we felt sick by the time we got there!

The whole purpose of our mini vacation was to relax so we didn't make a whole lot of plans for when we got there. Our days were filled with time at the pool, walking up and down the strip, and eating and eating and eating. I cannot believe the amount of food we consumed.

We decided to try the World Tour of Coke and tried 16 different kinds of Coke from all around the world. Some were yummy and most made us want to puke.

On our Anniversary we decided to try this place called Hash a Go Go for brunch. It was incredible. I had a farm scramble and Tim had this crazy Fried Chicken Egg concoction.

We couldn't believe how humid it was while we were there. Yes, I said humid. I guess they had rain for 2 weeks straight before we got there. It was a little stormy while we were there but cleared up on our last day so that we could enjoy a couple hours at the pool. We had our sweet friends Maren and Sean come over and swim with us. It was so great to see them!

If any of you know my husband you know that he loves food. We decided to splurge and go to the Wynn Buffet for our Anniversary dinner. I am sure we ate more than our weight in food. It was so incredible though. Not to mention gorgeous. The whole place looked like something from Alice in Wonderland.

On our way home I couldn't help but laugh/be completely terrified for all the people riding in the back of trucks. It was so bizarre. Mind you this was in the middle of nowhere Arizona on a 80 mph highway. A little stupid I would say.

  10. First of all, your new hair-do is gorgeous. And second, I live in AZ and I think the "riding in the back of trucks" is DUMB. I don't get why we are exempt from common sense, but they continue to let people do it. Yet we can't text and drive.. (which I agree with, but come on! Make all the road rules similar). ANYWAYS, I've missed reading along with your life and I am so happy to see you two having fun for your anniversary. We hit 5 years next week!

  19. Fun!! My in-laws live in Vegas, so we like to visit a lot. I've never been to the Wynn, but that picture is gorgeous! Is it weird that I want to go to the buffet just because of the awesome twinkle lights? :)
