3 Things Thursday

1. Last night Tim and I went to go get frozen hot chocolate. The place was so much fun. Chocolates, milkshakes, ice cream and galore! When we went in we found out that we had to call in 2 hours ahead of time so that they could freeze the hot chocolate. I was so sad. We got a salted caramel milkshake instead.

2. Today I'm supposed to go skiing again with Tim and some of his coworkers. It sounds super fun but I don't know how I feel about being in the snowy mountains from 5-9pm in the middle of winter. So cold. Plus the beaver is back. The best way I can describe my endometriosis is a beaver   attack. When it starts really hurting it feels like a beaver is gnawing away at my stomach while clawing my sides and smacking my back as hard as it can with it's big 'ol tail. Someone rip him off of me!

3. I went and met with a guidance counselor at the University of Utah to figure out all my classes for the upcoming semester. I would be a new transfer student. I just felt a pit in my stomach the whole time I was there. It took me 20 minutes of wandering around campus to find the right building. Once I found the right place to go I started chatting with the counselor and found out I would have to take 2 more math classes before I could start my major classes. I am the WORST at math. Even just thinking about math makes my blood boil and and little sweat droplets start to form. I would then have to either take 4 semesters of a second language or take 4 upper level math classes. What?!

I looked over all the paperwork and just didn't feel good about it. I thought and thought about it and it just didn't seem right. I thought maybe I was just basing my feelings off fear but I knew it was more than that. It just didn't seem like the best fit for me. I'm in the midst of figuring out plan B and I feel SO SO good about it. Hopefully this is the right plan. I don't want to get too ahead of myself so I'll let y'all know once it's all figured out.

Sorry about the lack of pictures in this post! I need to be better about taking pictures. I'm terrible at it. So instead I'll grace you with some pictures from my trip last summer to South Carolina with my cousins and then one from Christmas break with
my beloved cousins and my cute little brother as well. :)

  4. So sorry you have to deal with endometriosis. And hearing about your college story just gave my stomach knots. I switched majors from biology/pre-dentistry to music. I know how it feels! I am HORRIBLE with math!

  8. I'm one of those crazy peeps who believes nothing's better than getting more education; there's no such thing as being "overeducated"! So if you ever feel like giving the U a (2nd) chance, know that I'd love to be your UU buddy (woo!! I'm getting my 2nd B.S. there right now), I know the campus by heart, AND I'm very good at Math. So yay :D! Regardless of what you pick, though, I'm sure it'll be the absolute RIGHT thing. Have a good almost-weekend!!

  22. Ugh! Transferring sucks. But I recommend the language classes because it will actually be a useful skill later on in life, something you can put on your resume, and way more fun than math....and I actually like math.

Good luck, and I've done the transfer thing as well. It stinks but gets better :)

  23. I've heard of frozen hot chocolate, but I didn't know you had to call and ask them to freeze it hours ahead of time.
If you really had bad feeling about that school, I could understand you not going. And it sucks that you would have to take two more math classes. That is just a way for the school to make extra money by having you pay for more.
