Laporoscopy Time Baby!

Friday, December 7, 2012

About a year ago all my health problems all kind of came at me at once. I started having the heart issues and I also was in chronic pain a lot of the time. My stomach always hurt, my back was killing me, I've had no appetite, I've been nauseous, and my entire body aches. Sometimes I've been in so much pain that I pass out which hasn't been fun at all. A few times my stomach has swelled up and sticks out like I'm 8 months pregnant. I have hardly left the house the last few weeks because I feel so awful. BUT. I have FINALLY figured out what's been going on. Thank goodness for good doctors!

I had another ultrasound today and there was a bunch of blood and fluid in there so my OBGYN was able to tell that an ovarian cyst had just ruptured. This explains the stomach turning into a balloon and the sudden acute pain that I've had a few times.

We are about 99% sure the chronic ongoing pain is being caused by endometriosis. You can't tell until you undergo surgery and they do a biopsy on the tissue that they take out. My doctor scheduled my surgery for this Tuesday and gave me some narcotics to help me over until then. I'm feeling a little loopy so hopefully this all makes sense.

They make three incisions in my stomach and fill it up with carbon dioxide and then they are going to burn the crap out of all junk that has been putting me through hell. They'll also suction all the fluid and blood that is floating around from the cysts rupturing. Cute huh??

The thing that stinks though is I'm going to have to push back my state board tests AGAIN. One day I'll get them done and be able to start working.

I am so excited for all of this pain to be gone! Once this is over with I just need to get my heart back in working order and then I will be one lucky son of a gun and can do whatever I want again!

  1. My mother had it so bad she had a hysterectomy at 35. My sister has it really bad to and the doctors said she would never have kids.
Well, today is my nephews 4th birthday ...

I hope that the pain subsides soon. It's never fun to have to deal with that.

  7. I came across from the Dime Diary to your blog, I feel for you! I just had my Holter monitor removed yesterday and it left some nice burn marks where the stickers where, they are soooo itchy and burn! I hope they can get some good results with your tests and good luck with your laparoscopy! I had one 4 years ago right after my husband and I were married and have endometriosis as well. I had my first baby 4 months ago. The cyst ruptures are no fun, they hurt! I hope you have a quick recovery and you get some answers to your health issues, I know what your going through! :)

  14. Oh what a pain! My mum had a laparoscopy last week. I bit of bruising but it's amazing what they can do really with key whole surgery. We're lucky to be living in this era medicine-wise. All the best for a speedy recovery.

  38. Just found your blog tonight!!! I have a lot of the same problems you're having, but mine came on suddenly within a month. It also happened the same exact time I had food poisoning and a week after I returned from a cruise to the Caribbean. The doctors were all confused and I actually never had a laparoscopy. I had a laparoscopic appendectomy because all my pain was right sided. They found the endometriosis while they were in there. I had surgery August 9th, and my pain is already back. The birth control gives me migraines, and there is a ton of chest pain coming from somewhere. It sucks, but I know how you feel.
