I'm always curious what people's favorite products are. After a prompt from
Hey Natalie Jean I thought I would share with you some of my favorite makeup and hair products. I'll start top to bottom working from left to right.
Naked Basics by Urban Decay - I have heard amazing things about this eyeshadow palette but never wanted to fork out the money for it. I was lucky enough to win this beauty in a giveaway and I am so glad! It has a wide range of gorgeous colors so you can create so many different looks with it.
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation - A bit on the pricey side but I had a gift card to Sephora so I decided to put it to good use on this product. It lasts much longer than your typical drugstore foundation but doesn't feel greasy which I love. My neck is at least a shade or two lighter than my face and I feel like it matches them both well enough that I don't have that gross orange line on my jawline.
Make Up For Ever HD Powder - I am in love with this stuff. I just finished off my first tub (which lasted me almost 2 years by BTW) and I am definitely going to have to get more. The powder is extremely fine and creates a veil over the face that keeps your make up in place. I love the way my skin feels with this on.
DoTerra Oils - I use these all the time for 100 different reasons. I used the lavender all summer long after getting a bit too much sun. I used the On Guard whenever we were feeling the first signs of sickness and the DigestZen for my irritates stomach due to circulation problems.
Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - I haven't had to use this much with my short hair but back when it was long this was a life saver. The tiniest little drop added so much moisture to my dry ends. You can also add a bit of it to a hair mask and use it that way. Also smells amazing!
Aveda Green Science Firming Eye Cream - I am a bit of an Aveda junky after attending school at an Aveda Institute. This stuff is seriously awesome though. I can definitely tell a difference when I use this. The next morning my eyes aren't nearly as puffy, red, or tired looking. I can actually feel a bit of a tingle when I put it on so I know it's working.
Bumble and Bumble Texture Hair Undressing Creme - This is new to my cupboard ever since I cut my hair short. I have pretty fine hair so it helps me fake a thicker, textured look. It's a pretty small bottle but I only have to use about a pea sized amount. It may go a bit quicker though because I think my husband has been sneaking it for his hair ;)
Aveda Botanical Kinetics Hydrating Lotion - I have pretty dry skin so moisturizer is definitely a must. I hate the thick sticky feeling that some leave though. This absorbs quickly and makes my make up blend in so much better. My skin feels great after using this.
Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturing Sea Salt Spray - I like to spritz a little of this in my hair to give it a bit more texture if we are about to run out the door and it has been all day since I have put the texture creme in my hair. It smells heavenly and is a great alternative to hair spray which I am not a huge fan of.
Aveda Botanical Kinetics Skin Firming/Toning Agent - This product helps to balance the pH of the skin and add extra moisture to the skin. It also fights free radicals so it helps to protect your skin. I love misting my face and throat with this throughout the day to refresh my skin. Side note - Whatever skin care regimen you are using on your face should also be used on your throat and decollette. This will help keep you from having an awesome looking face but saggy/damaged neck and chest.
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo - I have tried a few different dry shampoos and this is by far my favorite. I try to only wash my hair about every 4 days so that it doesn't get too damaged or dried out and this product comes to the rescue when my hair is looking flat and defeated. It adds some volume and gets rid of the greasy look. It doesn't have the funky baby powder smell which is an extra bonus.
In case you were wondering... I have just reinstated sponsor spots. Check out my sponsor page to see if I have an option that might work for you. Spots are either $5 or $10.
I want the NAKED Basics so bad! Also...have you tried Not Your Mothers's Dry Shampoo? I used to used Suave and now I am hooked on NYM.
ReplyDeleteI just won the Naked Basics palette on Top Hatter (it's a really kick butt app for your phone where you can get high end makeup things for half of retail value.. sometimes things go for more than they retail for but you just have to bid and know your price limits.. it's awesome) and I can't wait to get it in the mail. I wanted to try more matte colors.
DeleteI'm probably going to have to go buy all of these things. They all look so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI used to be so in love with the MUFE powder- makes your skin look flawless in photos! I'm such an urban decay junkie and I've heard amazing things about this palette, maybe I'll pick it up next time I'm at sephora.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek :)

I wish I could have all of your products right now in my closet! I am always buying different stuff... and I have never been hooked on just one thing.
ReplyDeleteI haven't ever used a dry shampoo, but it's interesting to know the Suave is the best you've found. I was just debating the merits of expensive shampoo vs. Suave today. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, and for linking to Super Sunday Sync.
I agree, the tree oil is amazing (but only a TINY bit) and I love that powder as well!

Dry shampoo saves my life! And someday when I'm rich ;) (ha ha) I'm going to just buy out Sephora....because I can and it will make me feel soooo fancy :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Not Your Mother's sea salt spray! It's so easy to use when I don't feel like doing much with my hair. And I just bought the Naked 2 palette last week & can't wait until it comes.
ReplyDeleteI have ALWAYS WONDERED about Dry shampoo. I'm definitely going to be trying it out. Because my hair gets greasy super quick, yet my hairstylist tells me to not wash it every day. So I'm a bit conflicted. Thanks girl!
ReplyDeleteI have really wondered about Naked, too! :) Would you spend the money now knowing how great it is? I'm cheap. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally an Aveda junkie, too. I need to get that eye cream! Mamma has some saggy bags under her eyeballs every morn!
WOW great products. I am so use to using my own same old products need to switch it up a bit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post!

Those look awesome! I have to spend extra on makeup because my face is so sensitive, and that includes facial cleansing/moisturizing products. I don't have any of these but they look yummy!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I may have to try some of these! I've been getting into beauty products lately, they can be so fun!
