Christmas Week

We had such a great Christmas! I can hardly believe it's already over. The family Christmas party started off with a bang as Tim's sister and her family rang the doorbell and surprised Tim's parents by announcing they had moved to Utah and accepted a job offer here. The rest of us had known about it for a few months. Let me tell you that was a hard secret to keep. We even had them stay at our apartment back in September and had to keep it all a secret. We are so excited to have them here in Utah. Boston was much too far away!!

I decided as a little Christmas gift for all the Eaton women I would give everyone an at home facial. I wish I had a picture of the setup. It was so funny. We had a sleeping bag on the floor covered in a sheet and had all my hot towels in a crockpot. It ended up being a lot of fun and I hope they all enjoyed it as much as I did. I even gave the little girls a mini facial. They giggled and squealed and said my paintbrush felt like a puppy licking their faces.

The rest of our Christmas break was spent making and eating way too many treats, playing white elephant bingo, getting lots of "flu shots" from my 3 year old niece, playing games, doing a live nativity, and spending lots of time chatting with family. We both had to work most of the week but we were lucky enough to squeeze in a little trip up to Perry to spend the weekend with Tim's parents. They spoiled us rotten with yummy food, fun, games, and a night out at the movies.

The best part of the week was the opportunity to reflect on the life of the Savior. I love the reminder that Christmas brings to look out for one another and to serve others. I am so glad to have married into such a wonderful family that treats me as their own. I consider myself very lucky. You know you have it good when you can get through Christmas without seeing your family and not feeling homesick because you know your "other family" loves you just as much. Such a blessing!

^^ I would by lying if I didn't admit that one of my favorite things about the holidays is my sister in law's "better than sex chex" ^^

^^ The loot from white elephant bingo. I think the motto should be one person's junk is another person's treasure. ^^

^^ I have quite the clever father in law. We all thought he gave us expired cans of green beans. Which was true. There was a little surprise inside though! ^^
