We had such a fun time camping this weekend! I was a bit stressed out during the week because we were having a hard time finding a camp spot that was out in the open enough. Pulling your car up to the camp spot and camping 20 feet away from other campers does not count as camping. We finally found the perfect spot. We had to hike in a little ways which was nice because it was quiet and serene but carrying all of our gear in was definitely not so fun. We did pretty much all of our cooking on a cast iron skillet that Tim's parents handed down to us. Let's just say cooking over a fire is about 100x harder and takes 100x more patience than cooking in a kitchen. The food turned out to be pretty good though! (as long as you don't mind smoke and ashes in your food ;)) We were so glad some of our friends were able to come with us and we hope some more will be able to come next time. The more the merrier! Here are a few fun pictures from our trip :)
First thing in the morning in all my morning glory
No wonder my legs were sore!
These hashbrowns took like an hour to cook. I think we will just do oatmeal next time :)
Great pictures! Makes me want to go camping and I'm not the best outdoorsy person! :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a gerat time!

Not much of a camper myself but the place you went looks beautiful. Kudos for the patience to cook hash browns for an hour over an open flame.
ReplyDeleteWhere is this at? Please tell me, I'm trying to find a good campsite. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes I would love to find out where this is! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteWe camped near Mirror Lake near Kamas :)
ReplyDeleteThat lake it's beautiful! Looks so peaceful.

I went camping this weekend also! A tip for hash browns next time: cook them half way at home and then when you get to the camp site they will cook faster. We do this with fried potatoes :) Looks like a great weekend!

People who love to go camping amaze me. So kudos, girl, b/c I'm amazed, as I hate camping, hehe. My 1st and only time I've ever been "camping" we got rained on w/in a few min's of setting up, so that was that, thank goodness. Even thinking about makes me go "ugh!" Haha my future husband better not want to take me to his camping trips :). (Though I guess if he does, I'll manage, right?)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a blast, though!!
Looks like so much fun! Camping is one of my very favorite summer activities. I'm so excited to go camping next weekend.
